Aiken announced his bid for the 2nd Congressional District in February, in the hopes of challenging incumbent Republican Rep. Renee Ellmers. Aiken faces two other Democrats vying for the Ellmer’s seat – Keith Crisco, a textile entrepreneur, and Tony Morris, a licensed family counselor.

St. Mary’s School – Candidate Clay Aiken comes to Saint Mary’s

Saint Mary’s Young Democrats and Young Republicans clubs welcome Clay Aiken, candidate for the U.S. House of Representatives from North Carolina’s 2nd District, to campus on Friday, May 9 at 2:35 p.m. in Smedes-Emory Parlor. All students, faculty, staff and parents are invited to attend.

Mr. Aiken will talk about what it is like to run for public office and answer questions. There will be a reception with Jackie cake and lemonade.

The Young Democrats and Young Republicans hope that you will join them for this “amazing opportunity to meet a candidate and witness the United States’ democratic process in action.”

I think this would be a very interesting event.  I wish I lived close by!

  1. Went to wncn website to watch the video. Clay sounds great. Speaking with residents, one stated she wonders " why he is running". Does she not have a TV? People should really get educated about the races.

  2. Love the new look!
Thanks so much for keeping us up to date.
I'll be thinking of Clay all day tomorrow and wishing him all the best.
NC needs him!! He has worked hard for this and anyone who watched Saturday's live debate would see that he is by far the best candidate.

  3. I'm praying. Wish I could vote for him, I'm not on NC. He would certainly be a great help to many in Congress.
