Clay Aiken – Lunching, Golfing and Sharing Thoughts

According to The Fayobsever.com, Clay Aiken will be in Cumberland County, North Carolina today.  The site posted the following on Sunday, July 20th:

Clay Aiken of Cary, the Democratic challenger to Republican U.S. Rep. Renee Ellmers of Dunn for the 2nd District seat, is scheduled to speak at Tuesday’s 12:30 luncheon meeting of the
Cumberland County Democratic Men’s Club at Luigi’s. Members pay $9 for lunch; nonmembers pay $18. Also, 2014 membership dues of $60 are due.

I wish I could hear Clay speak at this meeting.  I would imagine that his presentation will be filled with facts and information about how he can help the people of Cumberland County.  I do hope that someone will take some pictures and report about what Clay had to say.

This is not the first time that Clay has visited with the residents of Cumberland County.  He spent a day with the military and their families, he met with the UFCW union, he had fun at the Dogwood Festival, and even participated in a parade!  And these are only the events we know about.  I have a feeling Clay feels at home with the people of Cumberland County.

On Monday evening, a new bit of information was posted.  It might be another interesting event that Clay will attend.

Digital Journal – Hollywood Actor, Quinton Aaron, Announces His 2014 Celebrity Golf Event

Hollywood’s favorite big man is putting his cleats on again, but this time he’s getting on the grass in a pair of golf cleats. Actor Quinton Aaron, who is best known for starring in the Oscar nominated film The Blind Side, is gathering his celebrity friends to help raise money for his anti-bullying charity, The Quinton Aaron Foundation.

The festivities will begin in Atlanta, GA on August 14th at The Bobby Jones Golf Course, where Quinton will host his annual celebrity golf invitational. The following day is Quinton’s thirtieth birthday and he will all be celebrating this milestone with celebrities and tournament attendees with an exclusive party in the clubhouse. Confirmed celebrities include fellow actor Jae Head, and expected guests Dikembe Mutombo, Clay Aiken, Alice in Chains, Donny Osmond, and many more…

You can read the entire article to learn more about Quinton Aaron, his foundation, and why he stands up to bullies.  Click HERE  Of course, according to this article Clay has not confirmed his attendance at this wonderful event.  I am sure it is something Clay would love to support…however, Clay has an event in Raleigh on August 13th and another in New Jersey on August 15th.  How’s your golf game, Clay?

While looking at You Tube on Monday, I ran across a wonderful video of Candidate, Clay Aiken.  Back on April 30, 2014, Clay participated in a wonderful interview on the HuffPost Live.  I know I watched it when it was new, but it is still an excellent peek at Candidate Clay Aiken.  He seems relaxed, knowledgable, articulate, and ready to make a difference.  It is less than 6 minutes long and should be watched by everyone.

I hope you will check back today to see if we get some news on Clay’s speech in Cumberland County.

I will put up any pictures or information as ion as it becomes available.

  1. I am so happy to see the momentum Clay & Team Clay have going for them. He looks & sounds great. I really do think people are listening to his views.I hope people post lots of tweets and pics of his events today.
    Thanks musicfan

  2. I'm sure Clay will fit the golf event on the 14th into his schedule. He seems to never run out of energy. Did you notice that Clay always wears those tan pants? They look like the ones that Pres. Obama wears when he dresses casually. I enjoyed watching that HuffPost again.
