Clay Aiken “…Cause You See The Real Me”

Natalie Grant is a popular singer-songwriter of contemporary Christian music.  Born in Seattle, Washington, Natalie makes her home in Nashville with her husband and their three daughters; Grace Ana and Isabella Noelle (born February 16, 2007) and Sadie Rose (born December 17, 2010)

Natalie is looked upon as an amazing and talented lady who plays a prominent role in Christian Music.  She has five Dove Awards for the best female artist and was also awarded the Gospel Music Association Female Vocalist of the Year four times.

Natalie released her last album, titled Hurricane, in 2013. In 2005, Natalie released her album titled Awaken.  One of the most beautiful songs on the album was The Real Me.  The poignant lyrics seem to express a search for peace from the push and pull of being in the limelight.  Natalie’s book, “The Real Me: Being the Girl God Sees” was available to the public in January of 2005.

Clay Aiken included The Real Me on his album On My Way Here. He also sang the song on many of his live concerts.

The following is a wonderful video of Clay singing this wistful song.

  1. When Clay sings "The Real Me" or "Lover All Alone" it just breaks my heart. To me, those are the closest songs to who Clay really is.

  2. He has such a beautiful voice, doesn't he? I love all the songs on this album and the public should have heard it! Best work ever!

    Happy New Year musicfan!!

  3. Clay's "The Real Me" has become an inspiration in my life. It is comforting to be reminded that God sees us as we are, flaws and all, and loves us regardless. I consider this song to be the most compassionate, the most intense, and the most revealing of all Clay's repertoire. It has drawn me ever closer to Clay.

  4. Thank you for reminding us of this video and this song. Such an emotionally charged song for his beautiful voice. I miss Clay Aiken!!!!!!!!

  5. We miss Clay so much, but he did have a very busy time last year with his campaign. He needs to catch up with his personal life first. We his fans, must be patient and let him rest! Thank you musicfan for all the videos you have shared with us these past months. They keep us in touch with our connection with Clay. However there are times when I miss him so much I start to feel sad and wish he was back with us. Love you, Clay: Always and Forever!
