On Friday night, the White House was splashed with rainbow-colored lights to celebrate a Supreme Court ruling that legalized same-sex marriage around the country.
The light display capped a day of jubilation over the decision at the executive mansion.
Justice Anthony Kennedy wrote for the majority:
No union is more profound than marriage, for it embodies the highest ideals of love, fidelity, devotion, sacrifice and family. In forming a marital union, two people become something greater than they once were. Their hope is not to be condemned to live in loneliness, excluded from one of civilization’s oldest institutions. They ask for equal dignity in the eyes of the law. The Constitution grants them that right.
Clay Aiken was in North Carolina when the Supreme Court decision was announced but he immediately was on the phone, talking to Larry Flick on his morning show, The Jolt. A snarky remark, but certainly gets the point across.

Good morning, so happy for the ruling of same-sex marriage, it's been legal here in Canada since 2005, it's about time for these people, they deserve to be treated equally, I know that Clay must be very happy, I listened to him on the interview yesterday, he was great.

What a glorious two days for our Supreme Court! They got both right! I love Clay's snarky tweet re the loony Texas pastor. "Your move, sir", indeed! and how about the White House rainbow lights! Wasn't that a sight of beauty? I'm absolutely qvelling!
