Clay Aiken – “Discovering The World Through Someone Else’s Eye”

A picture may be worth a thousand words, but live video can take you someplace and show you around. ~ Periscope

When Clay Aiken introduced me to Periscope this spring, I was excited. However, I wondered if it was the latest whim and would disappear as quickly as it appeared. But I was wrong!

Periscope, the popular live video app, just hit a major milestone. On August 2, it surpassed 10 million active accounts.

Periscope posted the following “thank you” note:

On August 2nd, we surpassed 10 million Periscope accounts. We launched Periscope just four months ago, on March 26, 2015. We would like to thank every single one of you for taking the time to use something that we’ve worked so hard to create. It means everything to us.

The company added that 21 million minutes of footage is being watched every 24 hours (which equates to 40 years in a day).

Periscope is an “on the go” broadcasting station. It lets you host interactive events in real time and host insider videos, live Q&A sessions and much more. And, it’s not just a broadcast channel. Periscope allows for two-way communication between its user and the audience for more fun and better communications.

Periscope has certainly been making waves in digital media. It seems it is not a whim but something that will be around for a long time…It also proves that Clay is knowledgeable about the new and exciting digital world. I am glad that Clay has shared Periscope with his followers.

Do you remember:

  1. Oh I sure have!! It's been fun getting some really nice ones over the past 4 months too! It was even better when the app came out on android. I already had an ipad mini but a samsung phone is what I used more. Thanks Periscope!!

  2. Oh YES I have! I just recently figured out how to get it, so I have only been able to view 2 of them. (Darn). I Wish they could be viewed for more than 24 hours. Thanks Martha

  3. We are so lucky to catch Clay just being himself on Periscope. He lets us see a little part of him privately. I cannot watch Periscope on my phone (I need to upgrade), but I can watch him on my computer. So for now..that will have to do. Someone always captures it, so again, we are so very lucky.

  4. Thank you Clay Aiken for introducing me to periscope , I love it so much I have made lots of new friends on this app..you have that thing about you Clay how you bring people together….and most of all I love when I get that notification letting me know your on LIVE . Fan For Life .

  5. I so envy all of you who are able to see Clay on periscope… I still have to upgrade my android phone and laptop to be able to download the periscope app. 🙁 Meanwhile, I am so grateful to you Martha and to CANN for sharing those precious videos for all of us to enjoy…

    Keep them coming… 🙂

  6. I am loving Clay's periscopes as well and just like you I really thought it would be in general a passing fad. Loved watching others as well like Neil Diamond's concerts in many cities on his latest tour. All filmed by his wife.
