Thursday was an interesting day for Clay Aiken and his followers. Yes…there was a slight problem!
It seems that some silly person thought they should have some “fun” with Clay’s Professional Facebook page. They decided to use a copycat site. They set up their site using the skeleton of the original page. The banner, the picture, etc. were exactly alike. But, fortunately, the articles and important parts were missing.
The fake page then sent out friend requests to as many fans that they could find.
Clay finally tweeted about the site…
Anyone being added by this account on FB: https://www.facebook.com/clay.aiken.710?fref=pb&hc_location=profile_browser&__mref=message_bubble … IT’S NOT REALLY ME!! #beware We are working on it.
So…warning to all. Be careful and don’t sign up for a new Clay Aiken Facebook page.
Facebook is a very popular way of communicating with people. Many times, it is used by celebrities as a way to make their fans feel like they are appreciated. But, Facebook says:
Founded in 2004, Facebook’s mission is to give people the power to share and make the world more open and connected. People use Facebook to stay connected with friends and family, to discover what’s going on in the world, and to share and express what matters to them.
I found the following statistics from Facebook very interesting:
- 1.04 billion daily active users on average for December 2015
- 934 million mobile daily active users on average for December 2015
- 1.59 billion monthly active users as of December 31, 2015
- 1.44 billion mobile monthly active users as of December 31, 2015
- Approximately 83.6% of our daily active users are outside the US and Canada
Do you use Facebook?
If so, do you follow Clay Aiken?
Do you follow CANN?
I hope your answer is YES, YES, and YES!
I planned to post some fun pictures here…but Photobucket just went down. They are doing maintenance to their site!
