Clay Aiken – Anyone Would Know He Is A Star

It’s finally Friday! Felt like it took a week to get here!

Annie’s Song

You fill up my senses
Like a night in a forest
Like the mountains in springtime
Like a walk in the rain
Like a storm in the desert
Like a sleepy blue ocean
You fill up my senses
Come fill me again

Come, let me love you
Let me give my life to you
Let me drown in your laughter
Let me die in your arms
Let me lay down beside you
Let me always be with you
Come, let me love you
Come love me again

~John Denver

Denver wrote this for his then-wife Ann Martell after their first separation and near break up of their marriage in 1974.

He was reflecting on all the joy he found in his marriage and his relief that they were back together.

Clay Aiken sang this lovely song on April 7, 2016 for the Final Finale of American Idol.

He stood on a black stage with a spotlight right on him.

Anyone would know he is a star.

Clay’s performance was beautiful.

I just wish he could have performed 2 or 3 more songs!!

Did you watch the Final Finale of American Idol?

Do you plan to watch the “New” American Idol?

  1. I remember “Annies Song” from when John Denver sang it many years ago. But Clay sang it beautifully and he certainly did look like a “STAR” and sounded like the star that he is/was??!! I definitely would have loved hearing him sing a lot more songs. Thanks so much for the video!

  2. I was swooning, watching Clay effortlessly performing "Annie's Song". The audience were in awe and hoping as I was he would sing the whole song! Thank you, CANN for beginning my morning with Clay!

  3. I hadn’t been watching idol for some time. I watched the first season because it was new and the second season because it was Clays year. It never got any better than that. I didn’t like it at all once they started having professionals as contestants. I enjoyed hearing the video today. If anyone knows what happened to Clay on Bold please let us know. ❤️ UNCONDITIONAL love for you Clay. God bless America.

  4. Thank you so much for that video. I still have it on my DVR and watch it whenever I need a little Clay! It was truly one of his most remarkable performances!

    • Kathy…I always have to approve the comments that come here. Today, I was teaching school all day and I cannot get to the computer at school. As soon as I walked into my house, I checked my computer and approved all the comments.
