It is always a good day when we get some great, up-to-date information about Clay Aiken and his career.  I already posted the information about Clay’s visit to Comedy Central on Saturday, October 27th at 11pm.  I loved the Funny or Die video that was part of the program and hope the entire program will be fun.

On October 23rd, the popular site, Broadway World, posted an article about the Staten Island concert on December 2nd. According to the write-up, Clay will be accompanied by a 20 piece orchestra and will perform favorite holiday classics.

I enjoyed the following from the article:

 Clay Aiken has become a television regular, appearing on shows like The Celebrity Apprentice, 30 Rock, Scrubs,  Jimmy Kimmel Live, The Tonight Show and more. Aiken was the executive producer for two of his televised concert specials, A Clay Aiken Christmas and Tried & True Live. In 2008, he made his Broadway debut playing Sir Robin in Monty Python’s Spamalot and authored Learning to Sing: Hearing the Music in Your Life, which became a New York Times bestseller.

In 2003,  Clay Aiken created the National Inclusion Project, formerly known as the Bubel/Aiken Foundation, and in 2004 accepted a UNICEF ambassadorship. For two years, he was appointed to the Presidential Committee for People with Intellectual Disabilities in 2006, winning a National Center for Learning Disabilities’ Children’s Advocacy Award in 2007.

Clay has certainly accomplished a lot in the last 9 years!

On September 29, 2012, Clay Aiken was a part of the entertainment at the UNICEF Water for Life Gala in Calgary. (See 9/29/12 article for more information.)  The Calgary Herald posted an article about the event on October 23rd.  The writer, Bill Brooks said:

…That none other than American Idol phenom and UNICEF ambassador since 2004 Clay Aiken attended, performed and shared his UNICEF experiences ensured the standing-room-only crowd had a wonderful evening. Superb silent and live auction items rounded out the excellent experience, so kudos to the small army of volunteers on the success of the gala.

I love that Clay is called a phenom.  Please visit HERALD and read the entire article.  I am a fan of UNICEF and it is great to read how much money was raised by this event.

I posted a few weeks ago about voting for The National Inclusion Project at a voting site called The Best Website Ever(TBWE).  The site has a category for charities and sends the winning charity a check each month.  The amount of the check depends on how many votes the charity receives.  It’s easy to vote.  You must register a real address and can vote 5 times per category.  You can vote for Clay too if you want to.  He is listed under Music/American Idol and Entertainment/Celebrity.  No money is gained for the Project in these two categories, bu it is fun to see Clay at the top.  I also get a kick out of the political war of votes going on.  To cast your votes visit…TBWE
