Clay Aiken – A Movie Star?

It is always fun when there is news about Clay Aiken.  On Thursday, there was lots of news.

The website, TVLine posted the following story:

Sharknado 5: Official Title, Cast List (Clay Aiken?!) Revealed

The annual comedy-horror show known as the Tara Reid Press TourSharknado is about to wash ashore.

Syfy on Thursday announced the official title, tagline and cast list for the fifth installment of its seafaring camptastrophe, which will make landfall on Sunday, Aug. 6 at 8/7c.

Underscoring its international theme, the latest sequel will be titled Sharknado 5: Global Swarming. Curiously, the Trump-inspired tagline — “Make America Bait Again!” —is decidedly U.S.-centric….

….The list of cameos is as eclectic as ever. Global Swarming will feature appearances by Fabio (as the Pope), Tony Hawk (as a masterful weapons operative strategist), Clay Aiken (as a cutting edge technology genius), Margaret Cho (as a fussy bride whose honeymoon is interrupted by sharks), Charo (as the Queen of England), and the list goes on…. So…….yes, Clay Aiken is making a cameo appearance in Sharknado 5.

The first Sharknado was a made-for-TV science fiction disaster horror comedy in 2013.

Actress Tara Reid was the star of the movie.  She said about the show:

It is silly, and there’s only a certain amount of barriers you could go into. You can’t take it so seriously when it’s absolutely the sharks flying in the sky. It’s so out there that it’s actually really funny.

Sharknado became very popular and became a huge hit.  This new show will be the 5th movie in the Sharknado story.

Within the last 24 hours, there are many articles on the internet that mention that Clay is playing the part of Llewelyn, a cutting edge tech genius.

According to ComicBook/TV:

…With the franchise largely being known for its often ridiculous cameos, Syfy has teased a continuation of that in Global Swarming. The globe-trotting affair will include appearances from Fabio as the Pope, Charo as the Queen of England, and Saturday Night Live alum Chris Kattan as the British Prime Minister. Other new cast members include Clay Aiken, Margaret Cho, Tony Hawk, Bret Michaels, Game of Thrones‘ Ross Mullan, and Olivia Newton-John. Return cameos will include Gilbert Gottfried and Today anchors Al Roker, Kathie Lee Gifford, and Hoda Kotb.

Sharknado 5: Global Swarming is set to debut on Syfy on August 6th, 2017, and will air in over 100 countries…

There are mentions about Clay from Variety, Entertainment Weekly, Hollywood Reporter, US Weekly, and many more.  Many of the sites place Clay’s name in the Headline and some have pictures of him.

So…put a circle on the date, August 6th, 2017 to watch Clay Aiken on Sharknado!  Expect to see Clay killed within moments on the movie.  After all, he only has a cameo appearance in the movie!

I have to admit, I have never seen any of the Sharknado movies, but have heard about how popular they are.  I know I will watch on August 6th to see Clay!!
