Did you watch the Macy’s Thanksgiving Day Parade yesterday?  If you and your family watched the parade, you were one of millions who enjoyed the parade

Since 1924, the Macy’s Thanksgiving Day Parade has kicked off the holiday season in New York City. Annually, the event manages to get together over 3.5 million people who enjoy having a great Thanksgiving celebration.

The scale of the Macy’s Thanksgiving Day Parade is immense: besides the people who view the parade live along the parade route, more than 50 million viewers tune in to the television broadcast. Spectators watch in awe as over 10,000 people participate in the parade.  The parade includes the nations best marching bands, performance groups, giant helium balloons, breathtaking floats and the one-and-only Santa Claus.

Awarded with an Emmy for its outstanding performances, Macy’s Thanksgiving Day Parade is without a doubt November’s most awaited celebration in New York City.

In 2003, Clay Aiken rode on the Hershey’s float and sang “Silver Bells. The Hershey’s float came right before the float that featured Santa Claus. Rather ironic that Clay rode the Hershey Float.  He has said many times that he is allergic to chocolate.

I hope that Clay can participate in the parade again some time.  It must be an exciting experience.
