Clay Aiken – An Exciting Time!

I live in Northern California so I will be busy for a few hours this evening watching Game 1 of the World Series. The San Francisco Giants are playing against the Kansas City Royals.  It is a home game for the Kansas City Royals and it should be an exciting game!

I always enjoy listening to the star who is chosen to sing the National Anthem. Singing the  Star Spangled Banner is difficult for any singer.  Tonight, the National Anthem will be sung by Trisha Yearwood. Then when the teams play in San Francisco on Friday, October 24th, Santana will perform an instrumental rendition of the national anthem with his son before Game 4  at the AT&T Park in San Francisco.

Do you remember when Clay Aiken sang at the first game of the World Series? It was on October 18, 2003. The game was between the New York Yankees and the Florida Marlins. Clay sang a beautiful anthem. It was filled with perfect pitch, excellent articulation, a touch of reverence, and a short pause when the jets arrived early. I think it was one of the only times I was nervous for Clay. I just wanted it to be perfect and it was!

I hope you enjoy the following pictures and the video of the event. It was an exciting time.

Did you watch Clay when he sang at the World Series?

Did you see this graphic that shows some of the differences between Clay Aiken and Rep. Renee Ellmers.  This was posted by UniteWomenOrg.

According to the printed schedule from Team Clay, today is a busy day on the Campaign Trail.  Clay will be visiting the following:

9:30AM – Asheboro Farmer’s Market

11:00AM – Cane Creek Sustainable Farm in Snow Camp

7:00PM – Town Hall Meeting in Whispering Pines, NC

AND…I would bet Clay will stop at many places along the way.  He seems to enjoy meeting and talking to the people of District 2.
