Back on January 25, 2009, we talked about the Tap Project that is part of a UNICEF project to provide clean and accessible water to millions of children around the world. Clay Aiken is a big supporter of this project and even taped a video blog about it.
Last week, UNICEF has sent out a reminder to all of their volunteers to keep the Tap Project in the news.
During World Water Week, March 22-28, 2009, the Tap Project will raise vital donations and awareness for UNICEF’s water and sanitation programs. For every dollar raised, a child in need will have 40 days of clean water.
Tom Colicchio, Chef/Owner of Craft Restaurants and ‘wichcraft says; “Participation in the Tap Project is an easy way for restaurants to help save the lives of children around the world.”
In an attempt to support the Tap Project, I visited the UNICEF site. I was shocked to find only six restaurants in the San Francisco Bay Area listed as participants. Perhaps all of us need to join in and ask our favorite restaurant if they are going to participate in the program. It is such a worthy cause and an easy way to support the project. Let us know when you recruit a restaurant.
