Clay Aiken – Miami Style

Clay Aiken performed in Miami, Florida on February 28, 2004.  He and Kelly Clarkson were performing around the country on their Independent Tour.

The audience was loud, excited and appreciative of the two young performers and the wonderful concert they put on for the crowd.

There was something unique about the concert in Miami.  Do you remember what it was?  Well, it was Clay’s clothing for the night.  For some reason, he never wore the outfit again.  Personally, it was one of my favorites.  Here are a few pictures from the Miami Concert.  What do you think of the outfit??

  1. Yes..I always remember that beautiful shirt..the green and blue. I can’t quite remember, but didn’t his father pass away at that time.??? I had thought of that a long time ago, that that was the night that Vernon passed away, and for sure, Clay never wore that shirt again..? I could be totally wrong…but that comes to mind.

He really should wear that again….he looked mighty fine, and loved the colours in it.

    Hugs,
    Judy

  2. I never could figure out why Clay didn’t wear that outfit again. That’s probably my favorite performance of When Doves Cried during the Independent Tour…

  3. I think he looked pretty sexy in that outfit. I don’t know why he wouldn’t wear it again. I liked the colors of the shirt. Oh, well, let’s face it, no matter what he wears he’s still gorgeous. Thank you for those stunning pictures.

  4. Two of my favorites colors, and it looks great on Clay!!

Sue, hope he answers your question!

    Thanks for the pics CANN!!!

  5. Since Clay has a reputation for re-cycling his clothes, it is amazing that we never saw it but the one time. You know there is a reason and I wish we knew the story!!

  6. I think you have a valid point shyeyewitness; it’s the 1st thing I thought of when I read that Clay only wore the outfit for that particular concert. Perhaps Clay didn’t want the outfit reminding him of the fact that his birth father passed without ever reaching out to Clay. Vernon did die the day of the Miami concert. I noticed also that night that when a fan called out “I love you,” to Clay during the accoustic set, Clay stopped singing long enough to say “I love you too, thank you.” I expect it was a bittersweet moment for him.

    Gorgeous pictures though. 🙂
