“Forget the things that made you sad and remember those that made you glad.
It’s Valentines Week!”
Think back…way, way back…farther…don’t stop until you get to spring, 2003…May 23, 2003 – Season 2 of American Idol was over and Clay was being booked on many, many TV shows!
U-Pick Live was a program that aired on Nickelodeon. It was on weekday afternoons and was filmed at the Nickelodeon Headquarters in New York City.
The show was for kids. Via the internet, viewers voted the shows that would air. Most of the shows were cartoons.
There were 2 hosts on the show who took part in gags and sketches. Sometimes they included members of the audience and celebrity guests. They also featured interviews and performances by the celebrities.
I found a You Tube of Clay on U-Pick Live. My first thought was…yikes!! But, it’s fun to see one of the crazy things Clay did at the beginning of his career!!
Do they still have programs like this in the afternoons?
Yesterday, February 10th, Clay wrote an opinion article published on USA Today. He is listed as an Opinion Contributor.
The article is well-written and full of information. The title:
Why I’m Changing My Vote From Joe Biden to Amy Klobuchar.
If you want to read the article, you can see it HERE
Clay looked very uncomfortable on that Nickelodeon show, but he was a good sport. I never even heard of or watched that program. Thanks so much for the link to Clay's article on USA Today. It's funny, but I was just discussing Amy Klobuchar with some friends. We all decided that we agree with her message. I too was for Biden, but he doesn't seem to have his heart in the upcoming election.
Thanks for the link to Clay's opinion piece in USA Today. It was helpful to me – I'm in a similar place trying to figure out who to vote for when my 1st choice was Joe Biden.
I never saw this before – Clay was just starting to get comfortable with doing so many of these appearances I would imagine. It helped him with the big stuff that was just around the
corner – and he really proved worthy of the "big stuff" !!! Clay gave us so much to smile about!
Thank you – CANN.
I can not believe the pictures or the video. I have not seen this before. Thank you for the info on Clay from USA today.
