“Which way to the stage?” – Rent

Tony winner Heather Headley played her final performance in The Color Purple on Sunday afternoon. She began her run at the Bernard B. Jacobs Theatre on May 10. She was playing the role of Shug Avery.  Headley received rave reviews for her performance as Shug, who, according to Playbill is…”both bold and insecure, brassy and tender, …a flashy Blues singer.”

According to twitter, Clay Aiken was in the audience to see his friend Heather, on her final performance.  I hope he was there and had a chance to give Heather a big hug after the performance.

I will always remember seeing Clay Aiken when he starred in Spamalot on Broadway.  It was a wonderful experience and Clay was amazing.

Do you remember the other times that Clay has performed on Broadway?  Let’s take a quick look at those performances.

  1. I was very impressed with the Broadway Retrospective. The Spamalot part was the best. Clay is so talented, it never ceases to amaze me. The singing, acting, & dancing was first rate! Thanks to Sue Rey for another great video. As always, unconditional love for Clay.

  2. I could watch this video every day. I did see Spam twice, but not the other occasions when Clay was on Broadway. Thanks for sharing again and thanks to the talented SueReu.
