Clay Aiken – Roasted Boar or Figgy Pudding?

We need your help!! We all know that Clay Aiken sings carols better than anyone.  His album, Merry Christmas With Love and his EP, All Is Well are both examples of the beauty of the songs and the richness of Clay’s voice.

Many fans would love to see Clay perform again at the holiday time…….hopefully in 2011.  Many others are hoping for a new holiday album.  This is where you come in.  We need a list of the songs you would like to see on a new holiday album by Clay. Please don’t get too carried away….maybe a list of about 3 songs.  On December 13th, I will list the songs in popular order and we can see what our “scientific” poll chooses.

It might be more fun if you add your choices before you read what others choose.  I hope we get lots of different ideas.  Also, let’s not include any songs he has already recorded.  Although Clay commented that he would love to re-record some of the songs, we are looking for a list of different songs.

There is no doubt about it – Christmas just wouldn’t be Christmas without carols.  Even people who do not attend church still enjoy carols.  For some, they bring back all those memories of a childhood long ago and far away.  For others, Carols bring home the message and the spirit of Christmas as nothing else can.

Carols are about a baby, and a star, and the angels, and peace, goodwill, and figgy pudding.  Some carols also recall the old pagan times of holly and mistletoe, yule logs and evergreen trees, roaring fires and roasted boar and wassil.

Thank you for participating in our Christmas music list.  I hope you all will give it a try…..you’ve got all week to pick your favorites.

  1. It's true….no one sings Christmas songs like Clay….
There are so many songs to choose from, but I will pick three that I would love recorded:
    1. The Season for Romance
    2. Jingle Bells ( Jazzy Version)
    3. Welcome To Our World

I really could go on and on…but I'm sure we will all come up with so many…. Great idea Musicfan.
    Hugs,
    Judy

  2. Well, I've got mine together. These are ones I have always wanted Clay to record:
    1. Welcome To Our World
    2. Let It Snow, Let It Snow…
    3. Baby It's Cold Outside

I know the last one is a duet…but, I would love to see him do this one with Casey Thompson. Could you imagine how sexy that would be?

    • I love "Baby It's Cold Outside", and I would also love to see Clay do this one with Casey Thompson. It would, indeed, be very sexy.

  3. Thanks for the great article!

My three song choices would be

First choice would hands down be All is Well. Since it was only released as an EP many people are not aware it was recorded.

I'd also like to hear Blue Christmas.

  4. No one sings Christmas like Clay! My three choices are:

    1) Once Upon a Christmas
    2) Little Drummer Boy
    3) Do You Hear What I Hear?

  5. Christmas is always better with Clay. My choices are:

    1. Good News
    2. Welcome To Our World
    3. The Season for Romance
    4. Celebrate Me Home ('cause he would absolutely ROCK on it)

  6. I would love for him to sing the one he sang with Bing Crosby. He does a far far superior job than David Booey (sp??) When I hear it on the radio I cringe. That one needs a fresh, beautiful new voice.
I believe it Drummer Boy/Peace on Earth.

  7. My Claly favorites have been recorded by him. However there is
    Celebrate Me Home
    Welcome to our World
    Good News

  8. You got me thinking about all the songs Clay would do a wonderful job on. How about…
Bending Towards The Light (it hasn't been recorded much and it is beautiful)
Silver Bells Clay sang this on the Hersey float in the Macy's parade
Do You Hear What I Hear?

  9. I would love to hear Clay sing, Celebrate Me Home, also So This is Christmas and Blue Christmas. Hope I have the titles correct.

  10. I'm sure I'll think of something else after I post this, but here goes:
    Good News
    Drummer Boy
    Celebrate Me Home

  11. This is extremely tough since Clay could sing anything.
1 – What Child is This?
    2 – Little Drummer Boy
3 – I heard the bells on Christmas Day.
That's a start. Like claysweetea said, I'm sure to think of more! 🙂

  12. Oh……so many options!! Well, today…..this is what I would love.

    1. Good News
    2. Who Would Imagine A King
    3. Celebrate Me Home

  13. I'd love to hear him record Celebrate Me Home – he's older now than when he sang this live, I think it would be beautiful. Of course Good News is amazing – another fabulous choice. A personal favorite (not really Christmas) would be Let There Be Peace on Earth.

  14. My first choice is –

    Celebrate Me Home

    My next two –

Do You Hear What I Hear?
    What Child Is This?

I may be back on this…….

Also would love "Celebrate Me Home".
Would love the one he did with Bing Crosby also.

  17. 1. blue christmas
    2. celebrate me home
    3. a fun, happy song for parker
