On Wednesday I was thinking about the National Inclusion Project.  What a joy it has been to see a small idea blossom into a vital organization that is respected by the experts and important for so many young children.

Community has played a vital part in this growing organization.  Those who support the National Inclusion Project feel that they are helping to make a difference.  We know that every donation of time, ideas, or money, helps the Project lead the way for inclusive communities nationwide.

The following are a few of the ways we can “Make A Difference.”

1.  The Pepsi Refresh Challenge:  Just by taking a moment each day in November, we can make a difference by voting in this challenge.  You can vote daily through your email, texting and Facebook.  Don’t forget to get your family, friends, and colleagues to join in the fun.  Just think of all that can be done with $50,000.

We have an awesome partnership with some very dedicated organizations this month so we would also appreciate you voting for them, too. You can go to www.tinyurl.com/pepsinovemberto find the Pepsi links for all of our partners.

You can text the following numbers to PEPSI (73774):

  • 109857 – National Inclusion Project
  • 109468 – SWOOP Wheelchair Ramps
  • 109695 – St. Anthony’s School Computer Lab
  • 109801 – North Central Troy
2.   Christie Cookies! November & December are Our Months!

In 2009, Christie Cookie had a contest to give away $25,000 to charities. They had more than 300,000 people to vote for their favorite charity and more than 1,800 charities from around the country nominated. They learned so much about different charities and the amazing work they do each day, but also the needs they face. So, they decided to do even more to help by giving back to one charity each month.

Each time our featured cookie tin is purchased in the months of November & December, Christie Cookies will donate 20% of the price of the tin back to us.

So click, order, and enjoy not only amazing cookies but also the feeling of knowing you made a difference to ensure no child sits on the sidelines!

3.  Fun Pasta Fundraiser:  National Inclusion Project’s fundraising efforts are underway and we’re excited to be selling Fun Pasta for our cause !  What a great idea for holiday gift giving or anytime gifts !! With your generous support we have been able to continue the success of our inclusion programs and make a difference for kids across the country! The funds raised from this new effort will help us continue our mission of inclusion and it’s so easy to get involved and make a difference in the lives of so many children. . . 40% of your online order will directly support our efforts! So have fun shopping and thank you for your support!

The following are a few facts about this National Inclusion Project Fundraiser…

  •         The deadline for holiday orders is December 1, 2011
  •         Sales Goal…$20,000 – We can do this if we sell 3000 units!

5. Wrapping For Inclusion is a nationwide awareness and fundraising campaign in which volunteers throughout the United States wrap holiday packages. The donated funds are then sent to the foundation to help it reach its goal of Inclusion for All Children.

If you would like to volunteer, please send your contact info to aronhall@inclusionproject.org.

Clay Aiken – We Can Help

By musicfan123 · Comments 6322(9)http%3A%2F%2Fclaynewsnetwork.com%2F2009%2F09%2F19%2Fclay-aiken-we-can-help%2FClay+Aiken+-+We+Can+Help2009-09-19+12%3A39%3A49musicfan123http%3A%2F%2Fwww.claynewsnetwork.com%2F%3Fp%3D6322
Saturday, September 19th, 2009

Some great news reached us yesterday.  We learned that Clay Aiken fans have the opportunity to raise some money for The National Inclusion Project.  And………it doesn’t take more than about 2 minutes.

A small cookie company came up with the idea to help nonprofit organizations that are in need of some monetary help.  The idea has generated a great deal of support as more that 100,000 fans have nominated their favorite charity for the Christy Cookies $25,000 Charity Giveaway.  The Nashville-based cookie company is marking their 25th anniversary.  They will select 12 charities with the most votes.  They will share the cash prize.

More that 900 nonprofits and charitable organizations in all 50 states have received nominations since the giveaway contest began in August.  Fans across the country can visit Christie’s Cookies through October 15th to vote.

The company is trying to keep The Top 50 most nominated charities listed on their site and will update as often as possible.

In an effort to thank loyal customers, Christie Cookies launched the $25,000 contest in response to decreased contributions to nonprofits during the past year.  Sue O’Donnell is the executive vice president of Christie Cookies.  She said:

“Our company guarantee is that Christie Cookies will put a smile on your face.  In celebrating our 25th anniversary, our goal is to bring even more smiles – especially in these tough economic times -by helping organizations dearest to our customers.”

According to their website:

Christie Cookies began in a small apartment kitchen in Nashville and has grown to serve customers and corporations nationwide, normally processing 250 mail orders per hour and 900 per hour during the peak season.  They ship approximately 250 mail orders boxes daily, up to 7,500 gift packages daily during the peak season.  Christie Cookies contain no preservatives and are made using only the finest ingredients.  Every batch of cookies is mixed by hand and cookies are baked fresh when ordered.

So, how do we help?  Click on the link and select The National Inclusion Project from the drop-down list.  Then, fill in the blanks and you have done your job.  Nominations must be submitted on or before October 15, 2009.  The winning charities will be announced in November, 2009.  There is one vote per e-mail address so if you have more than one e-mail address, you can vote again.

The company has banners and picture that you can download to use on your MySpace or FaceBook page.  Or……how about sending the information to your friends.  I have lots of friends who would vote in this competition, especially since it is for such a worthy cause.

It always feels so good to do something that matters.  I look forward to watching the totals and doing whatever I can to help Clay Aiken and his organization.  WE NEED 10,000 VOTES to be in first place.  Can we do it?

Quote of the Day

It is not always about performance art, but about receiving positive energy from people with positive spirits. Sometimes we can see someone's spirit, and those are the people with great energy. Those are the people that get me through the day, especially on Broadway. -Clay Aiken
