Clay Aiken – From Broadway to Politics!

Today is December 31st, the last day of 2017. I thought it would be interesting to take a moment and choose some standout moments for Clay Aiken in 2017.

Looking back on the year and picking only a few events is not easy. Some of you will agree with my picks and some will wonder why I left out one of their special moments.  Hold on to those ideas and please share them with us in the New Year.  As always, your comments are appreciated.

While going over the 2017 – Aiken Timeline, I found out that Clay was on BOLD 31 times.  The Friday show is always filled with many guests and many discussions.  Some of the guests on the past shows were Deepak Chopra, Gretchen Carlson, John Fugelsang, and Neil de Grasse Tyson.

Clay was seen at The View a few times in 2017.  Perhaps the most important visit to the View was on January 16th.  Clay,  Sonny Hostin and a camera crew visited West High School to talk to the students, teachers, and parents about how the Presidential election has changed the atmosphere of the school.  On January 16th, Clay and Sunny Hostin joined The View panel to report on their visit to West High School in Iowa City.  They talked to students about the bullying following the election and how things are now.

BUT…I think that if we asked Clay, he would probably say his favorite visit to The View was when he met Joe Biden!!

On August 8th, the movie Sharknado debuted…yes…Clay was in the movie as a scientist….and the show was filmed in England.  Clay got a nice trip to London!!!  Did you see the movie??

In 2017, Clay co-hosted the radio show, Wake Up With Taylor.  He was on the show 19 times and Clay shared a lot of news on the casual radio show!

Clay was guest on the website, Salon, three times in 2017.

Salon Talks hosted a roundtable with Carrie Sheffield and Amanda Marcotte. They discussed the debt ceiling, congress, and Trump’s first 100 days

Clay was at the Salon studios and was interviewed about the American Idol Reboot. It was on Salon TV and a written article on their website.

Clay interviewed Paula Poundstone about her book titled “The Totally Unscientific Study of the Search for Human Kindness”. It was shown on Salon-Facebook Live. Clay had read the book and the interview was excellent.

On March 31st, Clay was on MSNBC.  Clay talked about the partial repeal of the North Carolina HB2 bill.

I counted 19 times that Clay attended a Broadway Show. And…if I had to guess, I would assume there were many other show he attended that we never heard about. But, it makes me a bit jealous that he is able to see so many shows!!  Good for Clay.  Maybe he will decide he wants to be in another production!!

On December 3, Clay attended the Broadway Premiere of the show, “Once On This Island.” He walked the red carpet. His friend, Merle Dandridge is one of the stars of the show.

On October 19, Clay attended the Broadway show, Stuffed which features Lisa Lampanelli. He walked the Red Carpet and went backstage and had lots of pictures taken with the cast.

February 4, Clay visited the show In Transit. He went backstage after the show. The show stars Justin Guarini.

That’s all I have for today…I didn’t mention:

  • The National Inclusion Project Champions Gala
  • The Power of Play Workshop
  • The IAVA Heroes Gala
  • The Interview on HLN
  • The Under The Dome Podcast
  • Politicon in July
  • The Response from Clay’s twitter in August..
  • The marriage of Meghan McCain
  • AND…Christmas with Tyra Banks!!

So…what did I forget?  Please leave a comment if you have a favorite “Clay Moment” that I didn’t mention!

AND…

Happy New Year’s Eve!

Have a wonderful time, but be safe!!
