Today is the second day of looking back at all the exciting things that Clay Aiken did in 2016.
April 5th CNN
Clay was a panel member on CNN. The conversations were about the Wisconsin Primary and the democratic primary. Clay tweeted about wearing his glasses…he had scratched his eye and could not wear his contacts.
April 6th CNN with Brooke Baldwin
Clay did an excellent job talking about Sanders and Clinton and their primary run for the democratic presidential candidate. I have not been able to find a video of the discussion.
April 6th Clay was also on Inside Edition and Entertainment Tonight. The shows were featuring American Idol and both gave Clay a bit of time.
April 6th Time Magazine

After earning second place in the show’s second year on the air, Aiken went on to have a much more successful singing career than the performer who won, Ruben Studdard. Aiken has also starred in a Broadway show (“Spamalot”) and come in second in two other high-profile contests—the 2012 season of the reality TV show “Celebrity Apprentice” and the 2014 Congressional election in North Carolina. Clay was part of a panel of three people who talked about Hillary Clinton and Bernie Sanders. Each person had their own ideas about how Bernie and Hillary would get together after the primary.
May 6th Varney & Company – Fox Business News
Clay talked about North Carolina and the “bathroom law”. The second part of the show was about Donald Trump.

Clay talked with Paul Beban. They discussed the latest developments in the fight between North Carolina’s Governor McCrory and the federal government.
May 11th The Meredith Vieira Show
Clay and Meredith chatted about the end of American Idol and about Donald Trump.
May 13th Service for Rickey Smith
Clay and many of the Idol family attended the funeral service for Rickey Smith in Oklahoma.
May 25th Broadway Opening of Paramour
Clay was one of the first celebrities to walk on the red carpet. He was interviewed on the live twitter coverage of the event.
It’s been fun looking over the year and choosing special events. I am amazed that there are so many appearances by Clay. He had a very busy year!!
