How exciting to hear that Clay Aiken will be playing “Man In Chair” in the musical The Drowsy Chaperone.
Clay Aiken will perform at the BENEDUM CENTER in Pittsburgh on June 21 thru June 26.
A few Tickets are still available.
The character, Man in the Chair, is a Broadway fanatic who is agoraphobic and a loner. He listens to the recording of the Broadway show, hoping that it will cure his profound sadness. The Man in The Chair provides a running commentary throughout the show.
Clay received many positive reviews for his performance when he played the part of the “Man In Chair” – it was in Raleigh. My favorite review was written by Roy C. Dicks – Triangle Theatre critic. He wrote:
.…the big surprise was Aiken In this non-singing role, he proved to be an astute comedian, landing his punch lines with consummate skill, knowing the reclusive character enduring in a subtle, knowing performance. I highly recommend it….
I loved the entire show when I saw it in Raleigh….wish I could attend this time.
