Clay Aiken – Feeling The Holiday Mood

It has been a real gift to follow The Joyful Noise Tour 2012 as it travels through the United States.  Clay Aiken is putting out a wonderful concert each stop.  His voice seems in great shape and his ability to entertain has never been more evident.

Clay has surrounded himself with top musicians this tour.  The orchestras at each stop have been amazing…true professionals.   Ben Cohn is touring with Clay again.  He is one  of the finest up-and-coming composers, arrangers, directors,  and pianist in the New York area.  He is in high demand.

This tour includes a new drummer, Joe Choroszewski   According to Joe’s bio, his forte in music is drumming for musical theater productions.  As an educator, Joe teaches private students and also offers group instruction to school ensembles.  Joe is married and posts some great tweets.

Since Monday was an off day for the tour, We all can hope that these young men had a nice day off and some time to spend with the family and friends.  It’s back to work today in Bethlehem, PA.

It is always fun to find positive things written about Clay on the internet.  The following are a few fun tweets:

The Sentinel ALIVE published an article about Clay’s concert at the Luhr PAC in Shippensburg, PA.  Stacy Brown said:
Since finishing a close second to Ruben Studdard on American Idol in 2003, Aiken has become one of the long-running music competition show’s most successful alumni.

He doesn’t command the attention of a Jennifer Hudson nor does he have the record sales of a Carrie Underwood or Kelly Clarkson, but Aiken has proven a winner in the music industry.

He has sold over 6 million records and has won an American Music Award.

In 2004, Aiken released, “Merry Christmas With Love,” which became the fasting selling Christmas album ever.

South Florida Gay News.com published a nice review of the Joyful Noise Concert in West Palm Beach.

Clay Aiken in West Palm Beach – Through Tears and Joy

by Jason Parsley

American Idol Season 2 runner up Clay Aiken brought joy and tears to the Kravis Center of the Performing Arts in West Palm Beach recently with his Joyful Noise Tour. He returned to the holiday circuit after a five-year break.

A lot of former idols lose their appeal fairly quickly, but it was evident that Aiken still had his, with fans showing up all the way from Tokyo and Brazil.

The concert was filled with a mix of traditional religious Christmas songs like O Holy Night, Silent Night, Away in a Manger, Mary Did You Know and secular ones like My Grown up Christmas List, Don’t Save it All for Christmas Day and Jingle Bells.

While Aiken’s voice soared on every note it was his down home charm that made the concert memorable. He told stories, interacted with fans and was not only charming, but surprisingly funny.

After watching him on stage it’s easy to see why he’s garnered a loyal, almost fanatical following, over the years. When he asked how many of his fans had been to all of his holiday tours a surprising number of them screamed out…..
