Clay Aiken – Tweets To Like and Retweet!

On Monday morning,  Clay Aiken had some things to say and he used Twitter to share his thoughts!  His tweets were interesting and , as usual, he had lots of people who agreed with him and some that didn’t.

Clay posted:

So when I was on I slightly flubbed some lyrics. Nowhere near this noticable.. and even Paula gave me hell. This girl gets a therapy session?! 🙄 Really? Seriously??! What happened to the show we loved?

He attached the following video Twittervideo

About an hour later he posted another tweet:

Remember back 2002 – 2003 when was a high stakes singing competition & we were all waiting and nervously anticipating what had to say? Why’s it now totally without critique and essentially just a Vacation Bible School talent show? 🙄

Of course, some people didn’t understand that Clay was talking about the lack of judging and was not putting any Idol out.  But….look at the comments and they were about half for Clay and half not agreeing with Clay!!  So…everything is about the way it always is!!

If you missed the tweets by Clay, be sure and like and retweet him.  That’s a good way to let him know you enjoy his tweets!

Since we are talking about American Idol, I thought it would be fun to remember one of Clays performances on American Idol!

 To love somebody
To love somebody
The way I love you!

In 1967, the Gibb Brothers released their first album in England.  Named Bee Gee’s 1st, the album had 14 tracks.  One of the most popular tracks on the album was #10.  It was called To Love Somebody and it became a huge hit for the group.

In May of 2003, Clay Aiken sang To Love Somebody as part of the Top 4 Show of season 2 of American Idol.  All the American Idol judges, including Robin Gibb who was a guest judge for the evening, immediately praised Clay’s fantastic performance of the song. The live audience gave Clay a standing ovation for his performance.

That evening was one of the few times that I agreed with Simon Cowell’s comments about Clay’s performances.  That night, Cowell said:

Clay, I think this is the third Pop Idol or American Idol I’ve done if you include the English one, and that’s probably one of the best performances I’ve ever heard throughout the competition.

I would love to hear Clay sing this song again.  I think it really fits his vocal range and it certainly brought out strong emotions in Clay’s performance.

Were you watching Clay on American Idol when he sang this song?

Is it one of your favorites too?
